AAH, EFFECTIVE SHOPPING IN THE SALE YOU DO LIKE THIS
I recently had a free afternoon for the first time in a long, LONG time. And I decided to spend it wonderfully shopping. Call me a late bloomer, but while walking in the city I thought: whaddafuck, there is really a sale.
What happened next, I don't even remember. I went shopping like a mad bull. In every store that came my way. I came, I saw, I conquered. At home, I immediately laid my new gems on the bed and sent a photo to a friend. “I think I really shopped effectively for the first time.” How do you do that? I’ll help you.
Go alone
The most effective shopping sessions you really do alone. No one to wait for and no one waiting for you while you’re spinning in the fitting room for hours. Ideal.
Look for sets
I found a fun burgundy pencil skirt and immediately decided: this one is coming with me. But: this one only comes with me if I can also find a top to go with it. Thinking in sets works fantastically. Otherwise, that skirt will just sit in your closet because it doesn’t match well with the top you had in mind. to combine with the top you had in mind.
Take your time
If you have to shop quickly, you grab most items from the rack that you’ll never wear again. If you take your time shopping, it feels almost like therapy. Do I really need this? What combinations do I want to make? Which colors are ‘in’? You’ll go home with different clothes, believe me.
Set an amount with yourself
Okay, I have to admit that I was slightly above my budget. But still, some kind of guideline can help you. The amount of all those little sale purchases adds up faster than you think. For the very disciplined daredevil: take the amount in cash and leave your debit card at home.
Also look online
Because online there are really mega discounts to be found of up to 70 percent. Tip from our fashion editor Simone: NOW is the time to buy a bikini. It may sound strange now that you sometimes still have to scrape ice off the windows, but then you’ll have it ready for when that first warm day arrives. Or for the spa in your ski resort.
