HOW TO SELL YOUR CLOTHES ON DESIGNER VINTAGE
This week I went a bit overboard with my purchases again. I couldn't live a day without this Miu Miu ballerinas, couldn't breathe without the Gucci espadrilles, and I suddenly bought four beautiful (but not exactly cheap) kaftans for my girls and their mother. And tomorrow my favorite designer is having a sample sale.
There’s only one thing to do to legitimize new purchases. To Designer Vintage and quickly. And this is how it goes.
Preparation
Make sure your clothes, shoes, and bags are in the best possible condition. I'm going to sell my Chanel espadrilles (they're just a bit too small) and I still have the box, the dustbags, and the store bag. And the ribbon. This makes the product worth more money.
The prize
Think of a price that is reasonable. You can put something up for sale for a lot of money, but it's nicer to have sold it for a slightly lower amount. Try not to take advantage. People are not stupid, and besides; you’ve already enjoyed it, right? Then a reasonable amount is reasonable.
“Now you don't have to be afraid that people think: there she is again with those pink Dsquared shoes with feathers”
Extravagant things
My experience, but maybe the people at Designer Vintage think differently, is that a few standout items sell best. That particular dress from Dolce & Gabbana or the Bamboo Bag from Gucci, for example. You’d rather buy a very basic blouse from Filippa K in the store.
Refresh that stock
I find Designer Vintage a solution because I can regularly refresh my wardrobe (this is how you upgrade it in seven steps). For my work, it is expected that I don't wear the same suit every day. Because I know that I can sell my things again in the long run, I dare to choose something extravagant. Now you don't have to be afraid that people think: there she is again with those pink Dsquared-shoes with feathers. Because if you've scored big with them a few times, you sell them again and move on to another new love.
And then the bill
Once everything is sold and paid for, you can go shopping again, I mean smart investing.
