The overalls are really in vogue

The overalls. That was one of those garments we all secretly longed for because we thought we would look young and unintentionally attractive and sexy in them. But the results were mixed.

My friend and hairstylist Rachel wore one and received comments from the men in her salon that she was ‘brave’. She wondered if they thought she had suddenly become one of the women and that she was projecting that with this outfit. Or did they find the whole ensemble brave at all? She decided not to ask further.

I got one last year from my beloved at the beautiful store Blanc Bleu in Saint Tropez. Of course, for way too much money but hey, we were in love. With each other and with the outfit. The first time I wore it, my nephew Sam (read everything about my total humiliation) compared me to Mario from Mario Kart. When I asked him if that was a good sign, he jumped up with enthusiasm. 'Yeah man. Mario Kart is soooo small (his arm height was about the same as the couch) and soooo fat.' So much for my adventure with my overalls. here She wore heels under it and I thought she looked extremely cool, powerful, and sexy.

Against all the rather outspoken reactions, I remained team overalls. And what do you think? I'm in New York in SoHo, definitely the coolest neighborhood on earth. Chanel, Alexander Wang, Alice + Olivia, Miu Miu, Rag & Bone, all concentrated in one spot. And what do you think? You feel it, right? The overalls. Everywhere. Not just in the window, but also on the street. On the bodies of model girls and other cool New York girls. The overalls, I'm telling you. It's happening. It's a thing. It's the must-wear item of this summer. Our patience is being rewarded. Overalls, if you're reading this, this is going to be our summer.
