IT'S ALMOST MELON TIME AGAIN

And this is what you can make with it

Oh please, can we almost have melon again? Maybe just a little bit longer wait until they are really super ripe and flavorful, but we can already look forward to it and start counting down. I don't really care which melon I eat, because I like every type. However, it does matter which melon you use for which dish. For each type, I will give you a recipe.

Galia melon

Well, there is hardly a better version than the galia melon with freshly sliced parma ham. To make it a little bit more special, you could grill the melon pieces for a moment. That gives an insane flavor. A drizzle of olive oil on top and if you want, a ball of (real!) mozzarella, then you have a festive starter (or tapa).

Watermelon

It's a bit of a lift, but buy a whole melon, cut it into many pieces, and fill your fridge with it. A piece for every day. I can't imagine that you would be grumpy about that.

Pink smoothie

What do you need and how do you make it
– half a banana
– handful of blueberries
– big piece of watermelon
– large tablespoon of Greek yogurt or quark
– teaspoon of flaxseed
Put all the ingredients in a blender and mix them together. Pour it into a glass and you're done.

Salad with watermelon and feta

Maybe you think: that's a bit of a weird combo, but watermelon and feta go incredibly well together. Cut both into small cubes and put them in a bowl. Then add some arugula, a bit of olive oil, salt, and pepper, and the summer salad can be served.

Cantaloupe melon granita

I copied this recipe from Jamie magazine (by the way, I'm a big fan of that site). It's a bit of work, but incredibly delicious. Instead of sugar, you can also use honey.
