Because it is actually good for you

A real peanut butter shop is opening soon in Amsterdam-East. This immediately made me think of writing down again why peanut butter is actually good for you. It is often said and written that peanut butter is super fatty and that it makes you gain weight. Those must be the same people who also say that you better not eat avocados No. No. No. It’s really not like that. Avocado and peanut butter actually contain good fats and you need those. You never feel full from a plate of salad without avocado, do you? Let alone that you get energy from it.

And after eating a dry rice cake, you’re immediately hungry again, right? Not if you spread a layer of peanut butter on it. I can hear you say, of course, but if you still choose that dry rice cake, I can guarantee you that you will snack later, and with a layer of peanuts, you won’t do that. It gives a very satiated feeling and it gives you energy. And that’s what you want, right? The same goes for the avocado. It’s an energy bomb!

And no, of course you shouldn’t eat a few a day, but you can figure that out yourself. Everything in moderation. Whether it’s a bowl of oatmeal or a stroopwafel, just eat enough and don’t overeat.
