Kiki's diet diary: ‘Maybe you should eat a bit more...’

I hear it more often: women who are dieting, living super healthy and still only losing weight little by little. The biggest problem? They eat too little. Your body quickly gets used to those salads, that slop soup in the evening and building towers (aka rice cakes).

I am currently in the same shitty situation. Compared to last week where I also wasn't feeling great (read here just a bit) the scale shows a pound less after a week of following a strict regime. ONE POUND. 0.1 kilo, people. Did I seriously resist all week the Easter chocolate and divine Ladurée macarons that May brought from Paris? Dammit.

“Every two hours, a kind of fire alarm goes off in the editorial office. The KIKI-MUST-EAT alarm is that.”

When I wrote down what I actually ate for a week and my dietitian looked at it with her strict eagle eyes, I was told: ‘Kiek, really try to eat something every two to three hours. Don’t forget your snacks self.’ Not that I am even hungry every two hours, but if you keep eating mini portions, your digestion stays nice and active. So now there is a kind of alarm situation going on. Every two hours, a kind of fire alarm goes off in the editorial office. The KIKI-MUST-EAT alarm is that. So actually it’s a party, because I eat more than ever before. Healthy things, sure, but well, a person can’t have it all, right?.

Oh, and besides that, there is a kind of sports school situation going on that I am still quite surprised about. I went three times this week, THREE TIMES. And really cycling 17 kilometers, you know. I still find that pretty badass of myself, on to that bikini body of Sylvie. If that damn scale doesn’t show less next week, then I don’t know anymore. Then I’ll just grab the macarons again.
