And a whole lot of ice creams

A day without pleasure is a day lost. That could come from me, but it's from the friends of Magnum. And to add some action to the words, I was flown to Cannes for a shot of pleasure. Cannes alone wasn't pleasurable enough. There had to be more. Kendall Jenner, for example, the face of their new campaign.

And Mert and Marcus. The photographer duo of the moment. When they call, every top model drops everything to work with them. And there was ice cream of course. Because customizing is the word, there was a dip bar with a hundred options. Salted caramel, crispy chocolate, lavender, or should I take that lemon meringue?

’In the afternoon, there is a press conference with Kendall, Mert, and Marcus where they explain each image from the campaign. Kendall looks fantastic in her cream-colored suit with beachy hair. Mama Kris is sitting in the front row. All made up (I think she cringes at the word understated) and proudly taking photos of her little girl.

‘Release the Beast’ is the theme of the campaign with the message that you should do something good for yourself at least once a day. Like eating a Magnum ice cream. Madelon, the marketing director of Magnum, eats one every day. At least. Just in the morning with coffee around eleven. And now you think she is fat, but she has the body of a model. ’It's a matter of making choices,“ is her tip. ”A muffin has more calories than a Magnum.“

Because we decide to take the pleasure slogan literally, we lounge by the pool for a bit. Okay, I was sitting there typing first, but then suddenly a glass of rosé appears. The glass stays full as we go to the Magnum location for a careful dance. We are there, the ice creams are there (also the new Magnum Doubles where you get multiple layers of goodness over your ice cream), the bottles of soda are there and yes, here come Kendall and Kris.

And it really is a fun party. Often everyone goes home after a few steps and sips, but the music is great, there is plenty of drinks (although I skipped the peanut butter cocktail) and there are colorful people. Nicolette van Dam comes in with four women who were flown in as a surprise and we dance more.

Eventually, I rolled into bed at 1:00 AM. This morning I may not have a voice anymore, but no one can say that my day yesterday was a lost day.
