And, have you recovered a bit from all the craziness?

“Well, not really yet. The book presentation was of course the busiest moment and very exciting, but now there are a ton of interviews scheduled and the Instagram photos are pouring in from people who have bought the book and I believe that I find that the scariest of all. Everyone can now read what I have worked so hard on AND everyone can have an opinion about it.”

To be very honest, were those hangover recipes really needed the day after your book launch?

“Absolutely not, because at a quarter past 8 I was already in the car on my way to Koffietijd. I certainly didn’t want to be there with a hangover. Although, they are so nice and relaxed there, it could have been possible too. No, just kidding.”

What does your weekend look like?

“No free time yet, because I’m going to the LINDA.festival on Saturday and Sunday. There’s also a big LINDA. bookstore where I will be signing. Super scary, because what if no one comes for my little book.”

What is your ultimate tip for all women who want to live healthily but struggle to cook a fresh meal every day?

“My book contains a lot of fresh and easy dishes that fit very well into a busy life, but sometimes I have to be a bit strict: if you want to live healthily and have a fit body, you HAVE to cook fresh and pay a little more attention to it. Then you can spend a quarter of an hour less scrolling on Instagram. What’s more important?”

How long do you spend on average per week in the kitchen?

“I try to cook every evening and that takes about half an hour. Not longer, because after a busy day I’m hungry and want to sit at the table as soon as possible.”

And is that extra long on the weekend?

“I often go out to eat, I must admit. If something new opens in town, I want to eat there right away. But cooking for my boyfriend and/or girlfriends and filling the table with goodies and getting enough wine is also a favorite activity.”

Does your Sunday look different than your Saturday?

“Both days are about relaxing and thinking: what or where shall we eat tonight? There’s sports, there are chores, sometimes a little bit of work, but mostly relaxing with friends or together. Although I also love to just mess around a bit alone (!) at home on a whole Sunday.”

Your favorite Thank God It’s Friday moment?

“When all six girls from my friend group can eat together. We have very different schedules, so that doesn’t happen very often.”

In which restaurant could you stay all weekend?

“In Wilde Zwijnen. When I eat there with my boyfriend Ward, we leave last, when the staff goes home too. The same goes for restaurant Rijsel.”

What can we wake you up for in the middle of the night?

“Phew, food? Ice cream, I’m crazy about ice cream. Especially about soft serve.”

And, is the alarm set ridiculously early on Monday or is it manageable?

“Long weekend this week I believe? So no alarm. I’m in the east at my parents” farm. My mom is making asparagus for lunch and I’m hanging out a bit in the garden and her huge vegetable garden. Or is the weather going to be really bad? I’m with family anyway.”
