Has appeared several times Isabelle in the Look of the Day. She made me fall in love with her Valentino-, Mulberry– and Chanel-bag. Today the story behind her very first designer child. How many bags do you have?

‘Hmm, that's a tricky question. I mainly have a lot of small bags that I take with me when I go out. I have been collecting these since a young age. Actually, I should get rid of them, but I can't part with them yet. In the last few years, I have been trying to invest more in really beautiful bags that will last my whole life.’

What is the story behind this bag?

‘This is my very first designer child. I worked in a clothing store on weekends when I was fifteen and managed to save up for this bag. When I was on vacation in Knokke, I bought this gem together with a friend, in the Louis Vuitton store. I was really torn between the Speedy Bag and the Neverfull Bag. To this day, I am still happy with this choice. My first child was born, and it was immediately clear to me that I wanted to expand my family.’

How do you handle your bag?

‘Not too careful. My bags always go everywhere with me and have quite a few signs of use. However, all my bags have gained their own character because of this.’

What about the content?

‘The bigger the bag, the more contents. I actually have my regular items in every bag, but in my larger bags, there are often also a lot of receipts, papers, band-aids, candies, pens, and rubber bands. So basically, junk.’

What do you always have with you?

‘My keys, phone, earbuds, and wallet. I also usually try to take my perfume (APOM Maison Francis Kurkdjian) and a lip balm with me. My lucky chip from the casino goes everywhere with me. I got it from a friend, and since I am very superstitious, I would never forget it anywhere.‘

What do you think are the best features of a bag?

‘A bag needs to be practical; I need to be able to wear it crossbody or over my shoulder. Having many compartments is also a must-have, as I always like to find everything as quickly as possible.‘

Which one is still on your wishlist?

‘I currently have a bag crush on the Céline Trio Bag, the Céline The Box, the Saint Laurent Monogram Leather Shoulder Bag, the Prada Small Galleria Bag, and the Chloé Drew Bag. It's always nice to keep dreaming.’.
