MILAN TRENDS #2

In Milan, we immediately entered the fall/winter atmosphere due to the water that fell non-stop from the sky. Quite a shame, because the ever-so-well-dressed fashionista turned out to be wrapped in raincoats, umbrellas, and all sorts of other means to stay dry.

But we didn't let that get us down and effortlessly sniffed out the latest trends. From disco dancers, princesses, artistic types, and world travelers to ladies in suits; we saw them all pass by.

I would like to share three standout trends with you, of which today is the second: sport. The sporty look is one that I don't often see in the ultra-feminine Milan, where it usually bursts with ruffles, glitter, flowers, and sequins. All the more surprising was the clash with an oversized American football shirt over a skirt with an antique postcard print and vintage accessories at Gucci. But also a body-conscious catsuit in graphic stripes in primary colors at Emilio Pucci reminded me of the first layer you wear on the slopes. And very classy styled were retro ski sweaters worn in combination with high-waisted tapered feminine trousers and XL earrings. If even the designers in Milan (where I have never seen a woman in sweatpants, let alone women jogging through the streets) choose this sporty look, then it must become a hit. Mark my words.
