THIS IS THE NEW SUPERFOODS
Are we all sitting very nicely with the quinoa and the left-turned bio yogurt, there are already many other things that are super good for you and quinoa is out again. I can totally understand if you can't keep up anymore and I also understand that it's very difficult to eat what you think is good for you. Yet you read it, you want to try it and you go along with it when it says: super slim, fat burning, energy for ten and that kind of stuff. Right?
Ha! I'm going to make it a little harder for you, because May shoved Marie Claire UK under my nose and said: ‘Look Jet, we all need to get back to bananas, because that's the new superfood. I'm happy about that because I love bananas.’ ‘No Jet, banana flour.’ ‘What?’ ‘Yep, banana flour. If the supermarket keeps up with the times, it will be next to the coconut flour. You can use it in your smoothie, to make pancakes or to bake with.’ I'm going to do some research and will come back with a recipe.
Kefir is also on the list of the newest superfoods. I think it's a bit late, if I'm honest. I was into this kind of buttermilk drink last year. It's vegan, a kind of thin yogurt, it tastes a bit sour and is a very good probiotic. Sounds appealing, doesn't it? Well, it's really good for the body, I must admit. Delicious with granola or in your shake.
Maple water is also something that is totally the shit. The purest form of the sap that flows from the maple tree. Contains antioxidants and minerals (of course) that can help control blood sugar levels (good against candy attacks!) and improve thyroid function. This is also referred to as the new ‘wonder water’. Just ask for it in the organic supermarket. Don't forget your wallet.
And then lastly, everyone will have to start on bone broth to become the smartest, healthiest, and oldest person. Very simple: broth made from bones. Also good for digestion and preventing insomnia, fatigue, and anxiety. So, what are you waiting for?
