NOSTALGIA IN A NEW JACKET

I once started with a neat little toiletry bag in the bathroom, but now I have a real cabinet where I keep my beauty stash. That's very much needed, because with three types of waterproof mascara, two colors of bronzer, about four shades of foundation, and three toiletry bags filled with extras, my beauty stash is almost bigger than my bathroom. And don't forget those thirteen fragrances next to it that I can always choose something nice from. The cabinet is overflowing. Call it a luxury problem, call it megalomania, but to justify it a bit: it took twenty years to build that collection. By the way, that collecting frenzy started with just one favorite, and that is Tommy Girl by Tommy Hilfiger.

It was my first fragrance. Tommy Girl. Okay, I had also sniffed the Jip and Janneke scent from Hema and was of course totally spoiled with Zwitsal in my childhood, but I can rightfully declare Tommy Girl as my very first favorite. Very clean, very fresh, and youth in a bottle. I always looked forward to getting it for Christmas and a second bottle for my birthday. Then I could last another year, and so I never ran out.

Well, I can relive my youth again. Or actually: I can inject some youth back into my life. I'll skip the buns, the silver eyeshadow, and the over-plucked eyebrows for now, but the scent The Girl ensures that my beauty stash can become much more organized. I used to be fine with just one fragrance, and The Girl proves once again that I was absolutely right about that. The Girl is a new fragrance from Tommy Hilfiger in which they have captured youthfulness, liveliness, and fun in a new bottle. All of that, along with rapapapaaa: Gigi Hadid (you know: everything about her is cool, including this fragrance) gives it the allure of an it-fragrance.
“The Girl stands for being true to yourself while having fun,” says Gigi Hadid. “For me, it's about appreciating every moment, laughing with myself, and surrounding myself with everything that makes me happy.” Look, that's what we want. And that feeling has Gigi bottled together with Tommy Hilfiger. Just as clear and fresh as Tommy Girl, but with a huge touch of 2016. You first smell green pear, fiddle leaf, and green fig leaves. But if you keep your nose on the scent a little longer, you also smell the velvety jasmine petals and the silky lily of the valley. A hint of cedarwood and cashmere adds a very unique scent. It’s quite delightful and comes in an amazing bottle. Wear it, and it brings The Girl back out in you.
