Vraag je je af wat ons meisje Bo deze week in New York heeft uitgespookt? Bekijk het hier!

One of my dearest friends on the West Coast came for a visit. She and I have the following rule: ‘If one of our men is off on a play date, we fly to either side of the States to have a play date of our own. This time my guy is gone for a long weekend with his office, so my friend and I have a couch potato weekend planned, drinking cocktails, getting our nails done and snuggling with Blue. Besides her long blond locks and texting with an overdose of emojis, my friend Jane is also known for always coming with a pile of presents when she visits. She gave Blue the cutest Valentines day hair band. And what did I get? A helicopter flight! A belated 30th birthday gift. The coolest thing ever, and nerve-wracking at the same time…

There we go. The guy from the helicopter helped me put on my safety vest and to ignore my anxiousness, I filmed everything with Snapchat. I might be smiling in the photo on the right, but my smile is deceiving. Nervous doesn’t even cut it.

Okay, take off was hell, swinging from one side to the other and I probably squeezed Jane’s hand a little too tightly but I have to admit: the view was unbelievable. And after about 7 minutes or so, I was even able to quickly snap a duck face!

Yaaas! It was so cool and I’m still alive! A happy dance was very mandatory.

There are only a limited number of places that allow me to drink coffee in a cozy interior with Blue and one of these places is the following: The High Line Hotel. Definitely one of the top 10 best working places in the summer in the city, and perfect to respond to a couple of emails here and there with my fur baby tagging along.

Secretly snapping a shot at Baby Paul’s Grand. The coolest bar in town. It’s super artsy, cozy and at 01:00, in Baby Paul’s Grand tradition, the disco ball gets hung from the ceiling and disco tunes start streaming out of their speakers. Technically you’re not allowed to take photos, but we secretly did it anyway.

The first snow has arrived! I can’t believe it’s taken so long for snow to make an appearance. By the time you read this, New York will have transformed into a winter wonderland with Storm Jonas heading our way.

Brunch! Decked out in thirty-three layers of wool, we strolled along to get our hands on a club sandwich. There are two places where the Chicken Club’s are to die for: Cafe Cluny in West Village and Maison Kayser which is right around the corner from where I live in Chelsea. Temperatures were too cold for Cafe Cluny, so we opted for Maison. The cookies you get with the coffee alone are another reason this place is highly recommended… divine!

Monday’s are for work. And luckily my work buddy is back in the city. We plan on “working” at our good pal’s Joe and the Juice and managed to leave work on the back burner while we spent most of our time sipping on a lot of coffee, juices, swapping stories and secretly online shopping…

I need this chair! Who, what, where, how much?

What our dear Bo is up to in New York this week? You can read it here!

My dearest girlfriend on the West Coast is coming to visit me, because our rule is: ‘If one of our men is out playing, then one flies to the other or the other to the one’. This time ‘mine’ is away for a long weekend with the office, so we have a long weekend of old-school couch lounging, drinking cocktails, doing our nails and of course cuddling a lot with Blue. Besides her blonde locks and texting with a ton of emojis, Jane is also known for the kilos of gifts she always brings. For example, Blue gets a Valentine’s hairband. And me? I get a helicopter flight! Just before my 30th birthday. And that is so sweet, but at the same time, it makes me break out in a cold sweat…

Here we go. The guy from the helicopter ties the safety vest around my waist and to distract myself, I Snapchat the entire process carefully. On the right, I’m smiling like a farmer with a toothache and in both photos, my upper lip is trembling.

Okay, it was hell taking off and the swinging afterwards is really something that makes me go pale, but I hold Jane’s hand tightly and I have to admit: this view is incredibly beautiful! And after about 7 minutes, I even manage to snap a duck face! Najah!

Yaaa! It was so cool and I’m still alive! A happy dance is definitely in order.

There are only a few places where I can drink coffee with Blue inside and in a cozy environment, but here it’s allowed: The High Line Hotel. Definitely one of the top 10 best workplaces in New York in the summer, but also perfect for lounging with woolie and answering some emails here and there.

Secretly snapping a picture at Paul’s Baby Grand. I still think it’s the coolest bar. It’s super artsy, cozy, the disco ball is traditionally hung from the ceiling at 01:00 and only nice disco tunes come out of the speakers. Technically, taking photos is not allowed, but we secretly do it anyway.

The first snow is here! I can’t believe it’s only now that the flakes are flying around us, but better late than never. The ground is still just a bit too warm, but it sticks to the branches and benches. Blue thinks it’s also incredibly beautiful.

Brunch! Dressed in thirty-three layers of wool, we walk to the place for a club sandwich. There are two places where the Chicken Club is to die for: Cafe Cluny in West Village and Maison Kayser just around the corner from where I live in Chelsea. It’s too cold for Cafe Cluny, so we go for Maison. The choice is also secretly made for this place because of the cookies with the coffee… heavenly!

Monday means workday. And luckily my work friend is back in the city. We’re going to “work” at my good friends from Joe & the Juice. But the work is a bit overshadowed. It’s mostly a lot of juice, a lot of coffee, a lot of stories, and secretly a bit of online shopping…
