7 TIPS FOR A COZY HOME THAT COULD BE ON PINTEREST

I love to scroll for hours on Pinterest and peek enviously at all the cute houses that appear before my eyes. I can't complain myself, I find my home very cozy and Pinterest-worthy, but I can also imagine that it can sometimes be quite difficult. It doesn't have to be. A few small adjustments can make a huge difference, making people look enviously at YOUR home instead of the other way around.

Accessories

Somehow, people never have enough candelabras, tealight holders and vases in their homes. Seriously, open a cabinet and some things will pop out. Make a whole from your collected treasures by grouping them. Choose one color and different shapes, or just different shades of a color, to create a cool and original whole. A bit of height difference also works wonders.

Cushions

Are also one of those things. You can of course have too many, making it look super cozy, but there might not be any space left to sit. You can also combine very cleverly. Work in ton-sur-ton colors or with different materials in the same color. This way it looks cozy yet calm.

Accent wall

The sofa is perhaps the most important piece of furniture in the living room. It costs a bit and you spend quite a bit of time on it. So it deserves some attention. Place it against a strikingly colored wall, then it will stand out the most.

Invite conversation

This sounds a bit silly, but it is indeed what you want. You want a home where life can be lived, where you want to have friends over, and that radiates life and coziness. Create cozy corners and connect furniture with, for example, a rug. Place the sofa open to the rest of the room, which invites more to sit down and also creates a spacious and open feeling.

Flowers and plants

Living green works really well. It makes your home feel larger, fresher, and gives the right feeling for the season. Flowers and plants simply provide more inspiration in the home.

Tables

Normally, I am a huge fan of the rule ‘Less is more’, but with small side tables, that's a whole different story. You can actually turn it into an exhibition space with beautiful books, collected accessories, and nice souvenirs. It makes it cozier and adds dynamics and movement.

Brightening up the seating area

A throw is one of those things that can actually look very messy, but is really incredibly nice to snuggle under in the evening. If you drape it neatly over the armrest of your sofa, it gives a feeling of warmth in the house and shows that life is being lived in the home. You have to do it right, otherwise, it looks like ’I've just laid down a throw‘, so it's also an art.
