10 X WHY THIS IS YOUR CAR

For the past two weeks, I've been driving a Renault Clio and I'm absolutely in love. It has everything I desire in a car and a little bit more.

1. The mirrors

They fold in neatly when the car (automatically) locks and flap open cheerfully when I press ‘unlock’. Prevents someone from bumping into them and looks nice and ‘completely in order’.

2. Five-door

It looks petite (because it's French), but is secretly very comfortable. My children can open the back door themselves, as the handles are beautifully integrated into the C-pillar, making it look like a three-door, but in reality, it's definitely a five-door.

3. The dashboard

It's spacious, unbelievable. And in two-tone (very Chanel). I'm in love with the instrument panel (there should be a better word for it), as it looks like a cheerful pair of sunglasses and the vents also look incredibly cozy. And did I mention the green stripe that indicates you're in the right gear?

4. The tank

You can go a long time with it, as the Clio gets about 1 in 23.

5. The Bose speakers

So good that you have to sing along. And then think that you could totally join the next round of The Voice

“So cool and sporty, is there also a Formula 1 for women?”

6. The trunk

Tested. Two boxes of wine fit in, four full bags from Pauw, my work bag, three school bags, two gym bags, and a bunch of flowers. So...

7. The screen

Nice and spacious and clear. Ideal for searching for another radio station (after that comment from Giel Beelen for example, sorry Giel, but that one was really not good) and perfect for route planning. Destination Maastricht? No problem.

8. The gear stick

So cool and sporty, is there also a Formula 1 for women?

9. The turning circle

Yes, here I am again. President of the fan club for the short turning circle. Like every Renault, this one is also ultra-small. Ideal if you're not a fan of reversing, even if you accidentally ended up in a dead-end alley in the Wallen (don't ask), with the Clio you can turn 180 degrees in two moves. Easy.

10. The roof

That's in my version made of glass, making the car seem even more spacious inside. Not every glass ceiling is annoying.
