THE 5 SCARIEST HALLOWEEN HOTELS

Now that you read this afternoon which stars dressed up as Hillary Clinton and Christina Aguilera (jokes aside, check this out) this it's now time for the spooky side of Halloween. The hotels with a dark side. Expedia selected a number of British hotels with a creepy past and I just have to share the highlights with you. The big question: do you dare to spend the night there? I uh, think I'll pass, I'm afraid...

1. Langham Hotel, London

The hotel, built in 1865 and the first ‘Grand Hotel’ in Europe, is said by many to be haunted. Yes, haunted, indeed. One of them is a doctor who, according to legend, committed suicide after murdering his bride in the hotel during their honeymoon. Several other hotel guests have seen a man in military attire on the fourth floor. Cozy, right?.

2. Best Western Premier Queen Hotel, Chester

Shall we make it just a little creepier by the second? In this hotel it is said to be quite terrifying on the second floor, where the children's room used to be. According to various female guests, the room is visited by a little girl who creeps up on them while they are filling the bathtub. Some say she even pulled their hair, only to ride away on her tricycle afterward. Holy moly.

“Shall we sleep with the light on tonight?”

3. Ettington Park Hotel, Stratford-upon-Avon

Stop it with me, this mansion was already used for the film ‘The Haunting’ in 1963. Since then, the hotel itself has also been associated with the necessary horror. Mary (a young maid who died after an accident on the estate) is said to often wander around there. Also, two children who drowned in the River Stour in 1800 haunt the halls of the mansion.

4. The Swan Hotel, Suffolk

In this former inn, the spirit of the former housekeeper is said to still linger. Well, you have to do something when you're dead. According to legend, she committed suicide in room 15, where the staff quarters used to be. Several guests who have stayed in this room have run outside in the middle of the night because they saw a shadow of the housekeeper standing in the middle of the room.

5. The Schooner Hotel, Northumberland

This hotel has been declared the ‘Most Haunted’ hotel in the United Kingdom. And not just once, but twice. So don't expect a good night's sleep here. In recent years, more than 3,000 supernatural sightings have been reported, and a total of over 60 different ghosts have been identified on this estate. Yikes.

Shall we sleep with the light on tonight?
