THE 7 BEAUTY PRODUCTS YOU CAN FIND ON ANY FILM SET
Naomi Donne is the make-up artist when it comes to film make-up. She conjured up exciting looks for the film Spectre (yes, James Bond), created a romantic look for the film Cinderella, and oh yes, the iconic looks from Chocolate were also hers. Now I would really love to be in her pocket to sneak a peek on set, but that will have to wait a little longer. Until then, we’ll make do with the seven beauty products you can find on any film set. Then you can try to recreate those iconic looks at home. Believe me: super handy. Poreless skin, lips that don’t crease, and no blood, sweat, or tears visible. You don’t just want that on set, you want that all the time.
1. Lip cream
This is a cream for the lips in a nice color. The cream keeps the lips supple and soft, the color adds a bit more richness and brings some life to the lips. And very handy; you can also create some color on the cheeks with it. Quite handy, that multifunctional thing.
2. Cleanser
A beautiful skin starts with clean products. The brushes could use a good cleaning. Not so strange, because on set you’re definitely not the only one sitting in the make-up chair. There’s always a cleansing spray available to clean the brushes, preventing any inflammation on your skin.
3. Make-up wipes
Unlike how it looks on the big screen, the make-up isn’t that natural. There’s quite a layer on, and when you think about which looks were leading in the films Spectre and Cinderella, you totally understand what I mean. Make-up wipes or gentle cleansing products are important. After the shoot, the look is immediately removed from the face so everything can breathe again. Anyway, cleansing, whether on a film set or not, is quite important for good skin.

4. Eye drops
No, that’s not to get a good tear going, that’s to make the color of your eyes pop even more. They make your eyes look healthier and more radiant.
5. Matte powder
Matte, transparent, and super fine powder can fill in the bags a bit. Just think of this post, then you’ll know how it works, but this powder can also balance the color of your skin after a bad night’s sleep. Oh, and it’s of course good to set your entire look and prevent shine on your forehead.
6. Foundation
Film make-up is always applied a bit heavier, but that doesn’t mean you suddenly have to plaster your face with thick foundation. A very thin layer actually makes your skin look very natural. Because it always looks a bit heavier on television, a thin foundation looks very soft. Brands like Make Up For Ever, NYX, and Smashbox are designed for the photography and film world, so you’re in good hands with them.
7. Concealer
Extremely pigmented, creamy concealers are a huge go. Normally, it’s said to keep everything as light as possible, but on set, a concealer bit of extra pigment is allowed. Unlike, for example, the foundation from the previous point. Do choose a creamy one (because that looks smoother and nicer) instead of those that crease under your eyes and thus only emphasize a tired look.
