THE GOLDEN RULES FOR A GOLDEN SKIN
Spray-tan ensures that you go from pale to sun-kissed
And they also have nicely tanned legs. If skirt day suddenly stands at my door tomorrow, I really need to get to work to transform my legs into a healthy color . There are of course some rules attached if you don't want to end up with carrot-colored legs. James Harknett is a tanning expert and provides quite a few celebrities with a pair of brown legs. He listed the golden rules.
The preparation
“The first rule is that you need to think about smoothing your legs. Waxing should be done at least 48 hours in advance. If you do everything too close together, it can also counteract the effect of the self-tanner. Shaving is actually a bit safer, but make sure to rinse your legs well with cold water. This way, the pores are closed and you won't get any weird spots.
It is also very important to scrub well the night before. Don't start a few minutes beforehand. You really need the time for your skin to regain the right pH level. It sounds very complicated, but the pH value of your skin determines how the color will ultimately turn out. Oh yes, and also do NOT apply anything after scrubbing. Clean it and pat it dry. Use no other products than your self-tan.
How far in advance should we spray-tan?
Do you have an important event or are you going on vacation? Then do it at least a day in advance. You need to give it some time to let the product develop. Most self-tan products need 8 hours to develop.”
The right color
“Choosing a good color is really very important. You should choose a color that you would normally get if you let it tan naturally in the sun. Dark is really not always better. I actually recommend avoiding dark colors, especially for the face. The color on your face always turns out differently than on your body. It's better to start a bit lighter and build it up with multiple layers.”
Important moment
“You are usually always happy with a self-tanner because it adds some color to your body. If you have a wedding or an important festival, you can opt for a golden glow or a little glitter. I would try that a few weeks in advance. Then you can be sure that you are happy with the result.”
