It started in 2011. Planking in the most dangerous places. Then we had the Ice Bucket Challenge. Something about sucking on a bottle cap to get lips as full as Kylie Jenner's. The Harlem Shake. The Cinnamon Challenge. Pokémon GO. In recent years, we've seen the craziest hypes come and go. Today it's time for a new phenomenon. Suddenly, everyone is talking about the Mannequin Challenge. “The what?” I asked Elke this morning. “The Mannequin Challenge, Kiek. Everyone is doing it.”

Look, I don't like it when ‘everyone’ is doing something and I don't even know what it is. So of course, I have to research this like crazy and figure it out. If you're also thinking: what the heck is that? The idea is simple. You're with a group and everyone ‘freezes’ their pose. The crazier, the funnier.
