THIS IS THE PRETTIEST ISLAND IN THE WORLD
I thought I had already been there, last year. Paradise on Earth. During a holiday to Curaçao, my boy had suggested we head to a mini island called ‘Klein Curaçao’, an inhibited island you have to go to at least once in your life.
After a hell of a boat ride (two hours on one boat with six people going through extremely high waves makes you unbelievably nauseous) we arrived. It was heaven. The sand was so white, it almost hurts your eyes looking at it. The water was such a clear blue colour that you could count all the fish swimming by you. It's a haven for all divers, people who love to snorkel and everyone who worships the sun. The Bahamas, the Maldives; both are nothing compared to this place. So incase you ever head on over to Curaçao, you'd be crazy not to get on the boat and head over. Despite the waves. Just so you know.
‘But what if I tell you it can get even better?’
Alright, apologies for my long introduction, because what I'm actually trying to tell you is that there's an island out there which is even prettier. Better yet: it's the nicest place on Earth according to Travel + Leisure magazine. For the second year in a row, Palawan in the Philippines has been named the prettiest island in the world. First thing I did was make use of my good friend Google and within seconds I had butterflies in my stomach staring at the photos. This place is uncanny. The perfect relaxation holiday is what I read. Paradise on Earth. The prettiest coral ever. And the most intriguing thing about it is the underground river Puerto Princesa, the longest underground river in Asia as well as one of the worlds (nature) wonders.
I don't know about you, but I'm feeling a potential next holiday destination brewing....
