THIS IS HOW YOU FEEL AT HOME ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD
Coming home after a trip or vacation is rarely fun, so it's good to make a list of things you can look forward to before you take the return flight, so that you slowly but surely get a bit excited about your return journey. Really, take it from me, it works wonders. I've already started my list and even though ‘THE COLD’ is still very prominently on the side of things I'm not looking forward to, the rest makes the pain just a bit more bearable.
Cuddling with Poes Disco
Yes. Oh, that moment when you can hold your pet in your arms again for the first time, that means a lot to me. Disco is currently staying with Lilian's grandparents and is having a great time there. So much so that I'm seriously a bit afraid she'll have to get used to me again later. But well, the first night home with her in my bed, I could almost book a ticket home earlier for that.
Cuddling with my friends
Is it bad if I mention Poes Disco before my friends? Maybe I should read this post again. Anyway, I really can't wait to see my friends again, looking forward to long evenings with lots of wine, tired heads over tea or coffee, and spontaneous movie nights.
My heels
I really enjoy not thinking for a second about how I look here. I don't have much in my backpack, I haven't worn makeup in weeks, my hair is always in a bun, and all in all, I don't look great. But man, I really enjoy that. Nevertheless, sometimes I do look forward to wearing nice colors again and having my collection of heels with me.
Sleeping in my own bed
No matter how nice a bed can be, there is no bed in the world that sleeps better than your own bed. Preferably with a cat in it.
Cycling through the canals
By the way, I do miss cycling. Especially cycling through the canals. Preferably without snow and ice, but I fear that will be difficult in the coming time.
Finishing the photo wall in my house
Yes, I have a project: making a photo wall at home. For weeks I've been looking for photos, pictures, and artworks that need to go up, and once I'm home, I'm going to measure everything out so that the wall turns out exactly how I want it. Looking forward to it, man.
