THIS IS HOW YOU SURVIVE AN INCREDIBLY HOT SUMMER DAY LOOKING YOUR BEST

Apparently, it's going to be so hot this weekend that your flip-flops will stick to the asphalt and a well-done makeup will evaporate from your face immediately. So you can skip out in your cutest outfit and with the prettiest polish, but ten minutes later that look is completely gone. We need to prevent that. Because a sweaty lip, an eyebrow that has run down onto your cheek, and lipstick that shows faded scenes is something for the day after, not for a day in the sun. So we need to work on that.

SPF with a tint

Actually, you don't want to mess with foundation. You want to be flawless, but you don't want it to run and then think ‘where did my layer go?’. If you still want a touch on your face, go for an SPF with a tint. I am an incredible fan of the Lancaster sun care with a hint of BB. It quickly gives your face a slightly tanned look, but you are well taken care of with factor 50. No wrinkle stands a chance this way.

Primer

If you want to prevent sweat droplets from running down your face and affecting the rest of your makeup, start your makeup with a primer. It smooths everything out anyway, so you immediately fill in some fine lines and cover up imperfections. Often it's super matte, which is nice because then you won't have such a sticky face.

Bronzing beauty

A bronzer makes your eyes look bigger, your teeth whiter, and brightens up everyone who has barely seen the sun this year. It doesn't mean you have to go through life looking like an Oompa Loompa and waving a powder brush around. Do it subtly. A dab on your nose, a touch on your forehead, and don't forget to get your chin too. Oh yes, and it's also really handy to powder a bit on your arms and legs, otherwise, you'll look like a milk bottle with a chocolate cap.

“So you ensure either color on the lips or on the apples of your cheeks”

Keep it light

Sometimes you see those types on the beach who are totally made up. A striking color on the lips, a smoky eye, and cheeks that even the lifeguards would envy. Is it smart? I wonder. Not all beauty products contain SPF, so it can only help to make your lips naturally red (read: burned) or to clog everything up, resulting in breakouts the next day. Keep your makeup as light and thin as possible.

And if you want color...

...then you make the right choice. So you ensure either color on the lips or on the apples of your cheeks. And preferably after the beach. With such a color accent your eyes get extra color, your face gets more glow, and you look just a bit tanner.

Shine and glow

Shine is different from a healthy glow. Shine comes from god-awful heat where there is gloss on places you actually don't want, and a glow is a perfectly placed extra. You want the latter, you don't want the former. If you are a huge heat lover and thus see a droplet lying on your skin from the above tips, then blotting papers are your solution. Occasionally dab and everything is wonderfully matte again.
