THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN YOUR BABY NAME IN THE PRESENT DAY

or rather in 1890 or 1940

I love baby names. You obviously have one too a few crazy examples in between (which also leads to hysterical conversations), but generally, I always find it very fun to guess names when babies are still in the womb or to hear the story behind a name. This way, we can spend hours here in the editorial office secretly coming up with names for future babies, setting up polls for famous babies that are going to be born and thinking about what name we would have had if we had all been boys. Well then. Baby names it is.

We came across this link and have also spent quite a few lunches sweet with it. Fill in your birth date and your current name and a list of names will roll out that you can be very busy with. Because yes, then you find out what you would have been called in 1890 and what name you would have carried if you had been born in your parents' time. For example, Lilian would now have been called Alí, and our Theo would now have been a Gerard.

Curious? Just click here for a moment. I warn you though. Once you start filling in a name, you want to know everyone else's. So I hope you don't have too many colleagues in the office, because then it will be a very special workday. Or actually: very productive.
