Amayzine

Look of the Night

YOUR EDITORS

Tonight Amayzine is throwing a party. What am I saying, we have set up a whole award show. We are dining in the Kleine Zaal of the Concertgebouw with a bunch of VIPs that could make you feel a bit wobbly. Rick Nieman, Rik van de Westelaken, Cato van Ee, Floortje Dessing, Claes Iversen, Edwin Oudshoorn, Mart Visser, Eva Jinek, Marion Pauw, Merel Westrik, Jort Kelder, Leco van Zadelhoff and Thijs Willekes just to name a few.

And I would be remiss not to mention Ruben Nicolai who is hosting the evening. The past week has been a bit of a drag and a shuffle here. “Can you help me with my zipper?”, “I’m so afraid that your skin will get caught in it?”, “How many centimeters can I lose in a day?” were the questions dominating the editorial office here.

Looks were delivered from Milan (Sportmax), from Brussels (DvF) and I borrowed the most beautiful couture from Claes Iversen. Josselin had ordered dresses online, but her package was LOST and Jet had a really nice dress but no heels and was suddenly struck down by a nasty flu.

All things considered, it’s a miracle that we are standing here all dressed up. Jet is wearing a dress from DKNY (I have the same one in gray and I’m in love with it), Kiki is wearing a modified black dress from Karen Millen, Liesbeth got to sniff around in the summer collection of H&M first and fished that gorgeous dress out of the rack and Simone is wearing an ensemble from Odeeh with a coat from Dries van Noten that she got at Pauw. Yours truly initially went for a jacket from the couture collection of Claes Iversen that was truly stunning. But when a box from Sportmax arrived from Milan containing this white dress whose zipper actually closed (thanks to Daniëlle, Annick, and Theo), it became this one. Unless I spill red wine from Van Dam on it, so I’ve decided to only drink champagne tonight. It doesn’t stain, after all.
