WANT TO FEEL OLD?

These hits have all turned 20 this year

In the category of ‘holy shit, how time flies’, I have compiled a list of songs that have turned twenty this year. Twénty. Well, that suddenly makes you feel old, huh? I was seven when they hit the charts. Some of our interns weren't even born yet. Oh. My. God. I'm getting old. Anyone got a time machine I can borrow? I don't want to head towards thirty yet. towards thirty.

But anyways, here they are. The hits from back then that we all still enjoy twenty years later.

Macarena – Los Del Rio

To this day, I still have no idea what they sing in the chorus because although I'm good with languages, I don't speak a word of Spanish. But #yolo, heeeeey Macarena!

I Believe I Can Fly – R. Kelly

Another classic that does especially well during karaoke nights. I was obsessed with the movie Space Jam with Michael Jordan where this song was the title track. Just as obsessed as with this song.

Wannabe – Spice Girls

And then all of a sudden they appeared the Spice Girls. I was always a bit in doubt because I always wanted to be Baby Spice but at the same time also Sporty Spice. Oh, the dilemmas of twenty years ago...

Pony – Ginuwine

Pony was never really gone, but thanks to Channing Tatum and the guys from Magic Mike, it has certainly been revived. And sexy it still is... By the way, I have to think about the fact that I used to sing along to this, not knowing it was about sex. Oops.

Un-break My Heart – Toni Braxton

Saaaaay you’ll love me aagaahaaain.

No Diggity – Blackstreet

I'm usually not into covers, but if you want to hear a nice version of this song, you should check out Chet Faker's version. So so good.

Theme from Mission Impossible – Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen

Look, I've called in the troops in the form of Kiki Düren. Because that tune is of course very well known, but let's say you want to write it down, how on earth do you do that? Well, like this: tum tum, tum-tum-tum-tum, tum tum tum tum, DIEDELIEEEEEEE, diedelieeeeeeee, diedelieeeee TUDUM. Got it?
