WHAT TO DO THIS WEEKEND

by Theo Bakana

The cork is off, a long weekend beckons and you can do anything you feel like. We gathered the most fun things you could do this weekend for everyone with FOMO.

Frans Post, Animals of Brazil

This exhibition can be seen from today (Friday, October 7) in the Philips wing of the Rijksmuseum and showcases the work of Frans Post who spent a long time in Brazil in the 1600s. Not only are there paintings on display, but also a large collection of stuffed animals, and yes, that is really much more fun than you think.

Sample sale winter 2016

If you prefer to spend your weekend shopping and among the latest winter fashion (which we completely understand), then you should go to this sample sale this weekend. Here you will find among others ST. studio, American Vintage and Canada Goose. You’ll be completely ready for winter for a bargain. So put on your best shopping outfit and head to Ruysdaelstraat 58 in Amsterdam.

Peter Lindbergh in the Kunsthal

The work of Peter Lindbergh has been collected. He is mainly known for his fashion series with iconic supermodels, but in the exhibition at the Kunsthal, a collection of Lindbergh's work from 1978 to now can be seen. Definitely worth it and then you can also immediately pay a visit to the new Omoda store.

Mama Dough

Feeling hungry? Then definitely stop by Mama Dough. This newly opened restaurant is said to serve the best pizzas in Amsterdam-East and you can also hang out there for a long time, which is of course ideal with a free Sunday in sight. Mama Dough promises to become a new hotspot. Also nice are the prices, so there will be more money left for shopping. Win-win.

Jekerjazz

In the south? Then go to Jekerjazz in Maastricht. According to Simone, the epitome of coziness in Mestreech.
