WHAT WE HAVE IN COMMON WITH POLITICS

In general, Amayzine is quite politically free, as those worlds don't really have much to do with each other. Well, pay attention, it's actually more than you think.

French President Hollande was supposed to have a diplomatic lunch with Iranian President Rohani, but it's quite impossible to have a lunch that is both halal and alcohol-free and French. As in: not having wine at the table goes against Republican values, and the French categorically refused to drop the wine, so they just scrapped the whole lunch.

The idea was to meet in a fancy restaurant in Paris, but of course, the Iranians demanded a halal and alcohol-free meal, while the French government insisted on traditional cuisine with wine. In short, that's not going to work. It was even suggested to switch to breakfast, but that was deemed too little. Keep in mind: before Rohani went to France, he visited Italy, where the antique nude statues were carefully covered, and ultimately, business deals worth 15 billion were made.

But Hollande gives zero fucks and refuses to lunch without wine. I don't think he's very popular with the French, but I can secretly still laugh a bit at these kinds of actions.
