WHY CYCLING TO WORK IS SO GOOD FOR YOU
I am back in the office (was away for a while due to book printing) and the first thing I saw were brand new shiny bikes from VanMoof. I am a huge cyclist, really in all weather, but I prefer not to do that on an old wreck (that's just how I am). There also needs to be a basket in front and preferably no rear rack, because then you never have to take anyone on the back, ha! And I also like the model better.
These VanMoof bikes are our new company bikes and I am happy about that. Happy because I can take a ride on one myself, but I also think it's good for the others in the editorial team, because I am a big advocate of cycling to work. Why is that so good for you? Well, here’s why:
– You move more than when you get in the car or bus. And no one has ever gotten worse from that.
– You are in the fresh air; nice on your bike, music in your ears. Think of it as a relaxing moment before the busy day at work begins.
“You especially look a lot healthier and fresher after a bike ride”
– The same goes for the moment when you cycle home again. Just take a breather and clear your head.
– Cycling also reduces stress, I can tell you that. I have said it before: it is actually good to move when you have a full head.
– Cycling increases your resistance.
– Often cycling is faster than taking public transport (of course it depends on the distance, you understand that).
– Cycling also promotes better digestion, because you are moving.
– And if you are worried about your hair and makeup, just put on a nice scarf and quickly do your makeup in the toilet at work. But actually, that’s not necessary at all, because you especially look a lot healthier and fresher after a bike ride.
