WIFI, WORKVIBES AND HOT CHOCOLATE

These are Kiki's favorite work spots in the country

Where do they have the perfect combo of the above? I have experienced that as a freelancer over the years. Bad wifi: sucks. Bad coffee: really sucks. And that's why a list of my favorites. See you there?

BROEI, Utrecht

A really nice spot on the Oosterkade in my hometown Uutje. You can eat quite well there, relax, and of course the most important: work (do, do do, in that cozy front yard). The service is sweet, the coffee is fair trade, the cake is unbelievably delicious, and that wifi is top-notch.

Address: Oosterkade 24

The Hoxton, Amsterdam

If you ask me, there's no better place in Amsterdam to open your laptop than in The Hoxton. Maybe just because of the high living room feel, but okay, the salads and sandwiches are also not bad. Half of the people around you are probably working too, so it feels very normal to plop down on the couch for that meeting. Additionally: quite a few people come in, but it's never too crowded to concentrate. Bonus points.

Address: Herengracht 255

De Caballero Fabriek, The Hague

Where it used to revolve around cigarettes, the factory nowadays breathes creativity. In the building, there are countless nice corners and co-working spaces to be found. If you're looking for large meeting rooms, that's fine too. No problem there in The Hague.

Address: Saturnusstraat 60

Baker&Moore, Rotterdam

This urban spot has an open upper floor, where you can perfectly isolate yourself for a few hours to get things done. The wifi is super fast (also not entirely unimportant at a work spot) and the vibe is good. A tip from the menu: definitely try the amazing burrata and super fresh salmon.

The Village Coffee, Utrecht

Okay okay, not entirely objective as a Utregter, but can I still mention one spot from leave my little Domstad? The Village on Voorstraat is very well-known, but their second location in the former prison Wolvenplein is much cooler. Plenty of light, the very best coffee to get through the workday (voted the best coffee shop in the Netherlands in 2013) and okay, you caught me, secretly also quite a nice Insta spot.
