11x what goes through your mind when you forget your phone

It was only an hour. My daughter went to musical lessons and our tradition is that I drop her off, shop, and pick her up, but I had forgotten my phone at home in the rush. No big deal, you would think. But I was hit hard again by the extent of my addiction.

  1. Damn, forgot my phone. Just need to call home to say I'm unreachable...
  2. Actually quite nice, offline... nonsense.
  3. Hey, great idea for a topic. Just typing it into notes so I don't forget. Oh no, I can't do that.
  4. Ah, no problem, I'll just record it in the app with Adeline, then I'll remember it too. Ouch. It's tough without a phone.
  5. Nonsense...
  6. It's nice when you don't have your phone with you, at least you look around. At shop windows for example. Just look at that top from Marni at Pauw.
  7. Let me check how much money I still have in my account. Oh right, I didn't have my phone.
  8. Walking It's nice. I should do this more often. Maybe this weekend. Let me check what the weather will be like on Saturday on the rain radar. Oh right, I didn't have my phone.
  9. How many steps would I have taken by now? Let me check on my app. Oh right, I didn't have my phone.
  10. Still, I always feel a bit guilty when I'm not working on Wednesday afternoons. Then I'll just check my email. Oh right, I DIDN'T HAVE MY PHONE.
  11. Am I addicted? At least dependent. This calls for a phone-free weekend. Just to gently detox. If it works...
