Why a walking date is the new terrace
I am in a walking club. Really. And no, the average age of that club is not 60+. In fact, the average age is 27 and super cute. Not a single wrinkle in sight… Yes, girlfriends, recently I no longer plop down with my friends on a sunny terrace after six, but we dive into Vondelpark. Sounds super grandma, I know, but we really don’t care much about that. In fact, we just make ourselves look ridiculous in a walking outfit including leggings, a big shirt, and white sneakers. Planning a terrace tonight? Just send your friend a message, because it’s going to be a walking date. And here’s why:
- You burn a whole lot of calories while chatting with your friend.
- Walking after dinner means no chips on the couch.
- You don’t have to worry about a cute outfit. I say: leggings and your sneakers.
- The chance of encountering cute sweaty runners around you is very high.
- Picking up an ice cream or iced coffee along the way is fine, you’ll burn it off anyway.
- Walking in the fresh air means oxygen for your brain.
- Walking gives you nice buttocks, sitting on terraces does not.
- If you walk in the evening, you’ll notice that you fall asleep like a log afterwards.
- It simply counts as a workout.
- And it doesn’t cost anything at all.
- There’s no temptation to order a bottle of wine. Ideal for a weekday date.
- Your friend can’t make it, but you just got a new match? Just go for a walk, awkward silences aren’t so bad when you’re moving; there’s plenty to see.
- Is it a letdown? Sprint away and block that person quickly. It’s that simple.
- You finally hit your weekly goals on your Fitbit. And what your Fitbit says, that counts..
