5 compelling reasons to get a dog

It's vacation time. All the time to bring up some topics. A dog, for example. Because you've wanted one for years, but you just can't seem to get it through. I'm equipping you with solid arguments. Clever head who can say no to that.
1. Dog owners laugh more
Research has been conducted where people were asked to tick off how often they laughed in a day. This was asked of four groups: dog owners, dog and cat owners, cat owners, and people without dogs and cats. What turned out? Dog owners scored the highest, followed by dog and cat owners, and then at a distance followed by the other two groups.

2. Dogs help against depression
When you look at a dog, you produce oxytocin, which gives a feeling of happiness and togetherness. Oxytocin is used for people suffering from schizophrenia and depression.

3. A dog makes you more social
Think of all those chats in the park that you have. For me, it's not necessary, but I can imagine that the dog is the new pick-up phrase is.

4. Children with a dog have fewer allergies
Young children growing up in a house with a dog have fewer problems with allergies and asthma. An animal study from the University of California San Francisco shows that mice exposed to dust from a house where one or more dogs live undergo changes in their gut flora.

5. Dog owners are fitter
Because you walk. All the time. And what turns out? Dog owners walk even more than you expect. Apparently, they have caught the bug and walk like it's a joy.
And occasionally having your nose in the wind is good for people. A little one with nature, wind in your hair, on the paths, in the lanes, and see how happy you are.
