8x super simple cleaning tips

In the category of home, garden, and kitchen tips or from grandma's trick box, I want to talk to you today about stains and other nuisances. Because did you know that you don't need a kitchen cabinet full of expensive cleaning products? With these handy tricks, you can easily wipe that red wine off your brand new T-shirt and your couch will be hair-free in no time (yes, it's that time of year again). Thanks to the British Good Housekeeping Institute.

1. Chewing gum/candle wax – Ice cubes

Got chewing gum stuck? Open the freezer and hold an ice cube on the affected area. Wait until the substance hardens enough to scrape the gum off. Of course, you can also choose to put your entire garment in the freezer. Up to you.

2. Mold – Old toothbrush

Time for a new toothbrush? Then keep the old one with your cleaning supplies. It's ideal for removing mold and other stubborn stains.

3. Oil – Baby powder

Spilled olive oil? Grab the bottle of talcum powder. With a toothbrush and a dab of neutral powder, you can pull the oil right out of your clothes.

4. Dog/cat hair – Rubber gloves

An essential tip for animal lovers: put on a rubber glove and rub it over your fabric sofa or car seats. This way, you can easily pull that half coat off your dark couch.

5. Even more cat/dog hair – Tape

Tape is also ideal for pulling hair off your couch or sweater. Guess what I always have at home. And I don't even have a pet...

6. Red wine – Sparkling water

Red wine spilled on fabric? Sparkling water to the rescue.

7. Candle wax – Kitchen paper

Candle wax is a nightmare to get out of your clothes. However, there is a trick to easily remove the mess from your clothing. Place a sheet of kitchen paper over the fabric and iron over it with your iron on the lowest setting. The paper will absorb the wax.

8. Laptop – Cotton swabs

Dirt between your keyboard? A cotton swab is all you need.
