Beyonce becomes Nala in The Lion King
We may not be on Twitter day and night anymore, but this morning the little blue bird dropped a really nice piece of news our way that has everything to do with Queen B, surrounded by wild animals from the African savanna. And no, we are not talking about a wild safari or a new music video that is in the works. What is it? Well, Disney just announced via Twitter the cast for the live-action movie remake of The Lion King and rampampampam: Beyoncé will take on the role of none other than Nala.
Nala, you know, Simba's best friend and later his girlfriend, the Lion King himself. Who else is in the cast? James Earl Jones, who took on the role of Simba’s father Mufasa in the original from 1994, will reprise that role. How cool is that? Furthermore, Chiwetel Ejiofor is the evil uncle Scar and Alfre Woodard plays Simba’s mother Sarabi. The always cheerful Pumbaa and meerkat Timon, Simba's friends, are voiced by Seth Rogen and Billy Eichner. When does the movie come out? In 2019, so we still have to be a little patient. And until then, I’m just super jealous of Simba. Uh, Donald Glover.
