Amayzine Questionnaire with Silke

The model of Models in Paris

Everyone I speak to talks about the Silke of Models in Paris. Which shows she walked, how incredibly beautiful she is, and that she is phenomenal at networking. I wanted to know everything about that, so we called her while she was on her way from Paris to London.

Models in Paris, tell us everything...

“Oh, where should I start? It was an adventure. I am very happy that I met the girls and that we could show the real model life behind the scenes: high fashion and commercial. And I enjoyed vlogging the most, so I will keep doing that.”

How many shows did you walk in the last Fashion Weeks and what was the coolest?

“In the last Couture Week in Paris, I walked seven shows. My favorite was Galia Lahav, I had walked for them before. But this time it was extra special because Lucinda walked too. Everyone from our team was backstage, I will never forget that.”

What do you find the hardest about the life of a model?

“Not being able to plan. Sometimes I want to plan a vacation, but I also want to make sure I don't miss an amazing job.”

Is there a misunderstanding about your work?

“Yes, definitely. People often say ‘the thinner the better’, but if you are too thin, your agency in Milan will call. They just shout: pizzaaaa, pastaaaa. Having a model size is important, but nobody wants to be below that.”

People are talking about your networking skills (but really, I hear compliments everywhere). How do you do that, what is your secret?

“How nice to hear. My secret is of course my secret. But always be open for a chat, you never know who you meet where.”

What do you always bring to castings?

“My portfolio, set cards, heels, and a backpack with food and drinks.”

If your bag could talk, what would it tell us?

“More healthy snacks? Haha.”

Who would you like to swap lives with for a day?

“With Sting. I would love to sing and make music.”

How important is Instagram for you?

“Instagram is actually your second portfolio for the client. They often look on Instagram for recent material or a natural photo in my own style.”

Do you have a dream?

“To get a perfume campaign. But I also want to be a Bond girl. I recently started acting lessons.”

Your first job?

“The show of Giorgio Armani and Emporio Armani.”

Your fashion icon?

“Tom Ford.”

Who do you swap wardrobes with à la minute?

“Rather with no one.”

If you could only use one skincare product for the rest of your life, which would it be?

“The perfume Coco Chanel Noir.”

Name the last three things you bought:

“A ginger shot, a magazine, and a dress for a casting.”

You've lost 15 kilos, what is your regime?

“Eat healthy and train with your own body. Together with my father, who used to be a kickboxing trainer, I found a training schedule and eating pattern.”

What is your networking tip?

“If you get the chance, take it.”

How was Naomi Campbell's birthday, because I heard you were there?

“So amazing. And especially that I could literally shine with a designer dress that lit up with my heartbeat when the lights went out.”

You are often away, what do you do to miss your family less?

“Keep in touch a lot and if possible go home on the weekends.”
