Blake Lively's hair in 4 steps
If I could choose one celeb to swap hair with, I would know who to pick. Blake Lively, bring those long, thick, and beachy curls over here. And while we're at it, give me Ryan, your bank account, and your wardrobe too. I have absolutely no problem with that.
When Blake spontaneously took over our lives as a fashionista and man-eater on Gossip Girlit was already clear: this hair inspo is here to stay. And over the years, she has achieved everyone's Pinterest ‘hair goals’ board. But how on earth does she do it? Where do those out-of-this-world locks come from? There are a few tricks that this lady uses that you can easily adopt in the comfort of your own bathroom.
Shampoo
The shampoo Blake uses is also readily available in our Netherlands. Kérastase products are her personal favorites, especially the Bain Elixir Ultime shampoo.
Here's how to apply it
Even though she has her favorite, she doesn't recommend using the same shampoo all the time. Your hair gets too used to it, and thus you see less effect. Her bathroom cabinet is therefore packed with all the other Kérastase shampoos. Every now and then, she uses a different one. This keeps her hair healthy and maintains that beautiful shine.
Oil
Tip from Mama Lively: when washing your hair, you only want to remove the oil from your roots, not from the ends of your hair. They actually need the oil to grow healthily. So if you wash all your hair, you remove the oil that your ends need. Not a good idea. That's why Blake applies a layer of oil to the ends of her hair before stepping into the shower. This way, the shampoo doesn't damage the ends, and they grow nice and healthy. Bye bye, split ends!
Hair mask
Blake's favorite hair mask? Kérastase Reflection Chroma Captive Hair Mask. Instead of washing out the entire mask, she leaves five percent of it in. This way, she avoids frizzy and poofy hair.
There you have it: the four master tips from the hair queen herself. I'm already ready to use them all and have high expectations. Hello hair goals!
