Last week, our big Fashion Vintage Sale took place at the Huishoudbeurs. For months, I collected all the clothing items from fellow actresses, devised a whole color system so that visitors could see whose item was whose, gathered 17 racks full of beautiful vintage fashion, and together with the RAI set up a lovely ‘store’. The media found it very interesting to visit our store, but mainly to express their dissatisfaction about the fact that the proceeds did not go to charity. Now I can honestly say that all these actresses (many even as ambassadors) dedicate themselves throughout the year to countless good causes. This sale aimed to primarily facilitate a fun afternoon for fashion lovers, and fortunately, that went well! I received an overwhelming number of lovely and positive reactions to the concept, and hundreds of ladies went home overjoyed with their new fashion purchases. Final conclusion: it was a very successful event that many visitors have fond memories of. And that is what counts!
Just a little ode to a very sweet, little girl. Besides being a good actress, she is also stunningly beautiful, shines in various fashion campaigns, and is also a fantastic photographer! What makes her so amazing? She makes you feel completely at ease, allowing her to capture very pure photos that truly show the natural beauty of that person. And she is not afraid to experiment, so she stood giggling with self-cut filters in front of the lens to see if it would yield something ‘magical’. And here is the result! No wonder that the big fashion magazines ask her for a beautiful fashion report all the time. Dear Chloé Leenheer: I wish I could only shoot with you from now on!
Every now and then, isn't it a party to play tourist in your own city? So every now and then, I plan a lovely night ‘away’ with my husband or a girlfriend to do things or visit places that you wouldn't normally go to.
“Maybe a walk to the Bijenkorf is enough sightseeing for this time?”
This time, the city center was on the agenda, and we stayed at the beautiful W hotel. I must honestly say that this location has so much to offer that we hardly left the hotel: we were too busy enjoying a non-alcoholic cocktail in the rooftop lounge, then swimming some laps in the Away Spa, and afterwards flopping onto the bed in our bathrobes for a round of ‘The Butcher’ burgers room service. Oh yes, to complete the experience, we had to and would indulge in the famous chocolate dessert at The Duchess. And don't forget the delicious breakfast at that same location the next morning. “Maybe a walk to the Bijenkorf is enough sightseeing for this time?” we suggested in chorus. Ah, then let's quickly go for a few hours to the Rijks on a weekday for some responsible culture.
Just a few more days and I'm flying after my husband to the oh-so-sunny LA! Well, sunny... Right now, there is a huge drought in California and a few drops of water would be more than welcome, but of course, you can also exaggerate. For weeks, it has been pouring down, so those snapshots for Jon's film will feel anything but summery. But that shouldn't dampen the fun. The landscape is greener than ever, and I can't wait to continue our trip to the beautiful national parks in the area, which must be in full bloom now. My Hunter boots and raincoat are already ready!
As soon as winter comes around the corner, it's a party: my skin seems to protest against the extreme cold and suddenly starts showing red spots and bumps. And believe me, I've tried everything: a dermatologist, a different diet, a thick layer of Weleda Weather and Wind Balm before I leave the house, but the rash keeps coming back. Now, it is sometimes claimed that the rash can come from too many creams on your skin, and I just happen to love that. My ritual now consists of a cleansing, a serum, an eye cream, and of course a nourishing day cream: just the essentials, it seems to me! Not at all. Time to schedule a little facial detox. So now only a thin layer of Collistar Deep Moisturizing Cream goes on, and so far so good: the cream feels super hydrating, so I don't even miss all those other creams. I'm curious how long this new ritual will go well...
