Every now and then I get such a nice cleaning frenzy and a strong wind blows through my fashion and beauty closet (literally today, by the way, now that the ridiculously strong wind has caused our bedroom window to give in and my clothes are exposed to drafts 24/7, but that's beside the point). My husband came to investigate the noise in the bathroom and found me with a giant garbage bag while I was throwing away all the little monsters, lipsticks, and trinkets that I hadn't touched in years. Oh, what a relief. Until, of course, the week after I wanted to put a nice color on my lips and realized that I had thrown away almost everything during that blind spot. As if my prayers were answered, I found the Balmain X L’Oréal lipstick collection in my mailbox. With quite challenging colors, but I'm up for that challenge. So don't be surprised if you see me walking through the city next week with bright purple lips. Ah, what Rihanna can…
It already feels like months ago that we experienced our first vacation with the little one. Oh, I can't wait for our next trip. I received a lot of questions via Instagram about how we traveled with the little one, so I’d like to share the tip of the century with you. My best friend swears by the Yoyo Babyzen: a stroller that folds up so small that it can go on board. Of course, we still needed a baby seat, so I bought an adapter so that our Cybex Cloud Q fits on the stroller, so Otis could relax comfortably on board. And because the seat has a special reclining position, the little man could lie like a prince throughout the vacation in his new, assembled stroller. And you immediately have your car seat with you, read: no ‘dirty’ car seat that you have to borrow from the car rental, of which you don't know how long it has been there... The next trip will definitely include this setup again!
Last Monday it finally happened: Jon's ‘second’ child of the year premiered. Oh, I was so nervous for Jon that I almost forgot that I was in it myself! When we were in makeup, the three girls became quite nervous... Once we were dressed in our beautiful outfits and walked to the ‘pink’ carpet, we could really enjoy it. The reactions from the audience were incredibly amazing: every minute there was a loud laugh and during the emotional moments it was dead silent. Everyone was so enthusiastic and positive afterwards! Today we are going to Pathé Breda and Vue Hilversum to take a look during the Ladies Nights and I can't wait to hear the reactions to the film. Bella Donna’s will be in theaters starting tomorrow: super curious what you all think of it.
Of course, you want to let loose during such an euphoric evening, but with breastfeeding that's still a no-go for me. And since the alarm went off the next morning at 7 AM to visit Koffietijd, I thought it wise to leave the afterparty reasonably early. But then you come home, have to pump to feed the little one a few hours later. In the end, I was in the car on my way to Koffietijd with 3 hours of sleep... At such a moment, you are extremely grateful for the invention of makeup. And a nice outfit does wonders for your mood. Luckily, my boots caught more eyes than my concealed dark circles.
During our road trip through California last year, Jon and I developed a new addiction: at every fashion outlet, we had to make a pit stop to take a look, and there are quite a few, I can tell you. In the Netherlands, we don't have that many outlets, which is quite good for my bank card. Until last week when I got to take a look at the new Saks OF 5TH Store; that went completely wrong. A gigantic shopping paradise with designer brands at bizarre discounts. So if there are a pair of Valentino pumps with a €250 discount and two Marc Jacobs sunglasses with 80% (!) discount, aren't you a thief of your own wallet if you leave those behind? I know, female logic, but this has been working fine for me for years.
