CITY TRIP TO A HAPPY PLACE
Are you about to sit on your suitcase because you have a city trip planned? Oh, so nice. No idea where the trip is going? No problemo, because I have a primadonna list of places where it's a joy to be. And I really mean joy, because these are the happiest countries according to the World Happiness Report. Add a nice spot to that and your city trip can't go wrong. Here they come, in order of happiness.
No way, it’s Norway
Norway is the happiest country on earth. By the way, it's been on my wish list for a hundred years and if I were you, I would stay in a boutique hotel from Norske Perler. Check out that hot tub in Heimdal and what do you think of the Igloo Hotel? Ice ice, baby. But you can also just book a place in the trendy Oslo or romantic Bergen.
And go peek at the neighbors
Just take the boat over and you'll set foot in Denmark. And since you're in Scandinavia, you should stay in style. In the Quartier Latin of Copenhagen to be precise. Step inside Hotel SP34, because that's where you stay in true Scandinavian style. So you're going to have a weekend of ‘hygge’.
Iceland
After three hours in the air, you'll be on Icelandic soil. Perfect distance for a nice long weekend. And you'll spend it in Villa Lola. You won't get more Iceland in a retro outfit than this. Okay, no city in sight, but does that matter to you?.
On to Switzerland
Breathe in that mountain air, but make it urban. And do you want your loved one to also dash over there? Then you sleep in the B2 Boutique Hotel, a former brewery. Look, that makes him the happiest. And you can immediately head to the spa.
Home Sweet Home
In our coziest little frog country. Yes, we are an über-happy country, so if you're looking for your happy place, just go to Parc Broekhuizen or something like that. I'm just saying. It's not like I'm jealous of Renske, because she was there (green and yellow, right).
Stunning Stockholm
And finally; to guarantee your happily ever after in city trips: Sweden. You sleep in the Lydmar Hotel, because there you have the bonus of a great view over the water. The exterior breathes grandeur and inside everything is cuddly and super relaxed. Done wandering around the city (because your hotel is downtown)? Dive into the spa or work out (just like our Simoon) in the gym.
Fun in Finland
Maybe Oslo and Copenhagen are high on your list, but don't forget Helsinki. First of all, because it sounds cool that you're going to chill in Helsinki. Right? But also because you're going to sleep in a loft in the Klaus K Hotel. This is seriously by far the hippest hotel in the city.
