At our editorial office, towers are built daily from the incoming packages. While one person becomes intensely happy with the latest bottle of Chanel, the other is made intensely happy with the special editions of Tony’s, which we get to tear open the wrapper of first. On Monday, something happened to me that made my colleagues look at me a bit strangely. My heart did a triple somersault when I was handed a box with a brand of nut butter that is new to the Netherlands. According to my lovely neighbor, it was even so bad that my eyes started to water. Just calm down, Siem, it’s just peanut butter. IT’S JUST PEANUT BUTTER?
