Tindstagramming
The new dating trend
Are you the kind of person who won't settle for someone who hasn't swiped the right way on your photo on Tinder? As in: you came across a nice boy (or girl), swiped left, but you don't match, which means that other person hasn't swiped the same way on you. Well, some people have a plan B option to still grab that person's attention: tindstagramming. No, I'm not making this up.
Let me explain briefly: tindstagramming means that if it doesn't work on Tinder, you look that person up on Instagram and then send them a message. Sure, it can also be difficult to look someone up, because you might not know their full name, but since 2015 you can apparently link your Instagram account to your Tinder account, allowing you to share more photos of yourself if you're active on both channels.
But tindstagramming can also backfire if you're dealing with someone who has trouble with rejections. A lady shared some screenshots on Twitter of a message that a friend of hers received from someone she didn't match with on the dating app.
The man in question who sent the hateful message even took it a step further by posting the woman's personal information on the American classifieds site Craigslist, causing her to be harassed by multiple men who sent her quite, well, let's say horny messages. So honestly, it's better to think carefully about whether you really want to link your accounts. It's super handy, of course, if you want to ensure more visibility of yourself, but if you're not a match on Tinder? Then just leave it as it is and keep swiping.
P.S.: Already aware of Tinder Gold? At least you know who has already swiped left on you before you do it yourself.
