tom hanks; jack of all trades
If I have the time, there are usually two stores where you can find me on the weekend in Amsterdam. First, I stop by The American Book Center, where the corner with discounted coffee table books is definitely a favorite. Recently, I found a gem here if you're like me galaxy obsessed and: The Apollo Photobook. There was a tear in it, so it could go home for a little less money (#winning). After The American Book Center, it's just a matter of crossing the street and walking into Waterstones, where I scored something new last weekend and where I'm already raving about it, even though I haven't finished it yet.
The new book by Tom Hanks: Uncommon Type. Because writing, yes, Tom can do that too. And very well, if you ask me. This is a collection of short stories written by the actor, in which one subject recurs in all seventeen stories: the typewriter. I'm now at story number five, ‘Welcome to Mars’ (ha, space-related again), and I've decided to take a Netflix break this week to binge Tom's stories.
So, if you're looking for new reading material, my tip: Uncommon Type by Tom. Or ‘A bunch of stories’, if you prefer to read it in Dutch.
