Angelina also has something to say

It wasn't that long ago that Brad Pitt first spoke openly about his breakup with Angelina in the American GQ. He talked about his alcohol abuse, but also about the fact that he had been sober for a number of months (he looks good again by the way) and about how everything is going now between him, Angie, and the kids. Now it is Angelina who speaks for the first time about her life after the breakup, about how the kids are doing, her Bell's palsy diagnosis, and about the brilliant statement from her son Knox in Vanity Fair:

About her split with Brad

”We are doing our best to heal as a family. Things had just gotten bad. I actually don’t want to use that word. It had become ‘difficult.’”

About her children

”Our lifestyle was not negative at all. That was never the problem. That is and will always be one of the most beautiful opportunities we have been able to give our children… They are six extremely strong, attentive, worldly individuals. I am very proud of them. They are very brave, at all the moments when it is needed. We are all still recovering from the events that led to the filing of the divorce papers. They are not recovering from the divorce, they are recovering from… from life, from things in life.”

*Side note: in case you didn’t know; Brad and Angelina have lived with their children in many different countries. That’s what she means when she talks about their lifestyle.

About developing Bell's palsy

”I don’t know if it’s due to menopause or the year I’ve had. Sometimes women in families put their own interests last until it comes down to their own health. I actually feel even more feminine because I have been smart about my choices, and when I put the importance of my family first, I have the reins of my own life and health in my hands. I think that completes a woman.”

*Side note: Bell's palsy is a facial paralysis, which means that the muscles on one side of your face become weaker. Angelina indicated that acupuncture helped her to heal it.

About a brilliant statement from her son Knox

”He said: ‘Who wants to be normal? We are not normal. Let’s never be.’ Thank you – yes! We are not normal. Let’s embrace that.”
