After Harvey Weinstein, this is the most talked-about person of the past week in Hollywood. Once an intensely beloved actor and now forever on the blacklist – and rightfully so. Last weekend, the actor was also dumped by his agency, as well as his publicist, so it's time for a quick round-up of what has happened in the Spacey dossier over the past two weeks.

For some reason, Spacey thought this was a good time to come out of the closet.

After actor Anthony Rapp came forward with the news that he was sexually harassed by the then 26-year-old Spacey at the age of 14, Spacey issued his public apology. Personally, he felt this was the moment to come out, which was not well received – and rightly so. He was attacked from multiple sides because: ‘coming out stories should not be used to deflect from allegations of sexual assault,’ according to Sarah Kate Ellis, director of GLAAD, a non-profit organization that advocates for gays, bisexuals, and transgender people.

After Anthony Rapp, more accusations followed.

From, for example, actor and filmmaker Tony Montana, who indicated that Spacey once groped him in a bar in Los Angeles, and also the Mexican actor Roberto Cavazos has stated via his Facebook page that Spacey was a kind of predator for young male actors under thirty: ‘It seems the only requirement was to be male under the age of 30 for Mr. Spacey to feel free to touch us.’

Even his old stomping grounds have distanced themselves from the actor.

Between 2004 and 2015, Spacey worked as artistic director at The Old Vic theater. After all hell broke loose around Spacey, several people who had worked with him at the theater indicated that they were aware of his inappropriate behavior. ‘We were all involved in keeping quiet. I witnessed him groping men many times in all sorts of different situations,’ it was said in an interview with The Guardian.

Last Wednesday, it was announced that Spacey has been admitted.

What exactly he was admitted for has not been disclosed, but it is assumed that it is about the same as with Harvey Weinstein who is currently undergoing therapy for his sex addiction.

Netflix announces the end of House of Cards.

It is said that this was already planned before the news about Spacey was made public, but in a new statement from Netflix, it is now also mentioned that there are plans to kill off his character Frank Underwood because they no longer want to have anything to do with Spacey. And not only is House of Cards ending, the production of Gore, which he was involved in, is also being halted.

Stories are also emerging about the unhealthy atmosphere on the House of Cards set.

All thanks to Spacey. Especially the story of one of the production assistants who indicated that he was once forced to put his hand in his pants when he was in the car with the actor on the way to a location to shoot for the Netflix series. ‘I was in a state of shock. He was a man in a very powerful position on the show and I was someone very low on the totem pole and on the food chain here.’

His International Emmy Founders Award is being revoked.

It was intended for Spacey to receive the award this year, but the International Academy announced last week that it would withdraw it with a short but direct statement: ‘The International Academy has announced that in light of recent events it will not honor Kevin Spacey with the 2017 International Emmy Founders Award.’

So far, this is what is known about Spacey, and I expect (unfortunately) that more will come. So: to be continued.
