Flying for millennials
Hey, you there. Yes, you. At least, if you're also a travel enthusiast. I'll just assume that for convenience. I have news for you. Starting December 1, a brand new airline will be launched, especially for you and me. The ‘millennials’. A term that sometimes gives me a bit of an itch, but I think the idea is cool: let's make flying nice and relaxed.
Despite the fact that I am the chairperson of team heels, I can imagine that flying in heels isn't always that chill for the flight attendants. And those suits (okay, at KLM they are still cool) sometimes look a bit stiff. And then there was Joon: a new airline from Air France. At Joon, flight attendants can swap their heels for white sneakers. I think that's cool. The staff can generally adopt a more relaxed dress style. No blouses, pencil skirts, and stiff blazers, but just a nice sweater and some pants with flat shoes underneath.
Joon goes even further to win over the youth aged 18 to 35. The planes have rapapapa: WIFI. And every passenger has a USB charging point at their seat. Does this approach make everything very cheapy? Not entirely. Joon is positioned between classic airlines and budget carriers. Nice prices, but no Ryan Air antics.
So, if you're looking for a European destination soon: Joon is your guy. Don’t worry, I don’t have shares, but I’m genuinely curious. Initially, flights will be to Barcelona, Berlin, Lisbon (my new favorite) and Porto, later Brazil and the Seychelles will follow. Doesn't sound bad, people. Joon, when are we going? Let me leave my heels at home, deal?
P.S.: My embarrassing shame story on the plane have you read it yet?
