For when you were a fan of
Baywatch
The red swimsuits with extremely high cuts along the hips. The floaters where they swung through the loop with supernatural powers on their way to the next rescue. Baywatch, it kept me glued as a little girl to the square TV (yes, back then TVs were square). David and Pam ruled the series, but I had the hots for Jeremy Jackson. You really don't want to google him now, just really don't. That classic drumroll at the intro tune, that piano riff, Jimi Jamison with his raw edge and high notes, it was pure luck and enjoyment on a weekday afternoon after school.
If I tell you that you can get a bit of that time back, but in real life and just in Amsterdam? Yes, then life is good. With a bit more male beauty from now, you know (as I said, Jeremy is not what he used to be), in the form of Manuel Broekman and other appetizing lifeguards in swim trunks. Plus a sun-sea-beach-lifeguard cocktail. And if you aspire to such a high-cut swimsuit yourself, then you follow a next level rooftop bootcamp with fitness guru Olivia Cooney. What am I talking about? The Baywatch Summer Series a.k.a. the summer season of W Amsterdam. And if you are the only one in all of Amsterdam with a rooftop pool, then you are just a match with Baywatch.
Our friends at W are kicking off the summer series tonight with a transformed W Lounge in Baywatch style. Yes, including the bright red swimsuits and trunks, a champagne bar, and a nineties ice cream bar. But it wouldn't be a series if this was all, of course. In June, July, and August, on the second Saturday of the month, you can take your bikini out of the closet for the Baywatch Pool Parties. To reveal your abs from under the winter fat, you immediately sign up for the six-week bootcamp program with Olivia. Then you not only work up a sweat, but you also get spa treatments as a bonus AND access to the AWAY Spa. Of course, you need to recover a bit from those nice parties. Well, if you're looking for me in the summer, you know where to find me.
