HE LIKES YOU, HE DOESN'T LIKE YOU
Beep beep, beep beep. Oh, is he sending something already, has he read it already, does he want to see me again? That uncertainty in the beginning is a dra-ma, because how do you know if something is serious business or just a fling? You get so overwhelmed that you almost forget to be head over heels.
I was kind of evaporating in that stage of uncertainty. Just like the first time we really clicked. Is he going to run off now? He didn't, relief all around. But you can definitely test a bit if he is with you to stay and in such a way...
1. Your friends are crazy about him. So important.
2. If he wants one on one (don't think dirty things). That you do enough you-and-him things, without his entourage or your squad.
3. He talks and listens. And if he isn't much of a talker, you don't just kick him out (unless you're looking for a talker).
4. You both have a passion for knitting and on vacation, you easily climb the Himalayas together. Liking the same things is a recipe for long and happy (or at least for a while).
5. He is crazy about his mother. Yes, it's sometimes tricky, but if he cares about his mother, then that brings along skills.
6. If he wants to know everything about you. The name of your first doll, what your grandma's favorite dish was, political preference... But really, the whole shazam. It's a good thing.
7. He is the helping kind. Moving your mother? He helps. His best friend broke down at midnight? He helps. You're too tired to get drinks in the kitchen (gnagna)? He helps.
Okay, but if he does this then you're better off alone...
8. Do you turn into a witch? Wrong, wrong, wrong. A love should bring out the best in you. Big bye.
9. He relaxes very differently than you. Are you flat out with Netflix, but he chills night after night with Studio Sport? Hmm, think again.
10. It's never his fault. Late? Mr. couldn't help it. Forgot that date? You should have sent it to him again. Is he secretly killing the neighbor's dog? You did it. Run my friend, run.
11. You've never met his family. It doesn't have to be in week number one, but if you're a year in, then that's a bit odd. Yes, odd.
12. Do you sometimes have no idea where he is hanging out? That's totally okay, but is he a master of the disappearing act? Then it gets a bit awkward, as in: what do you do in your other life, dude.
13. Is what he says about his exes not for the birds? Ouch. That shows an unkind nature. And honestly: does that make you happy? I say: adios, amigo.
