HELP, I NEED TO MOVE
It was only a year ago. On November 24, I found my dream house in Utrecht. My little palace under the Dom. Literally underneath it. It was a great opportunity that I stumbled upon through a friend and where I ultimately chilled hard for a bargain price for a year. You can tell: I'm writing in the past tense YES. I wouldn't have minded if it hadn't happened yet, but I'm being kicked out soon. Goodbye.
The incredibly beautiful monumental building from 1500 is temporarily going to be used as a sort of construction hut by builders (WHY?!) and will then be completely renovated. That same building, you know, will then be put on the market for over a million. You see, technically I think it's very normal to believe that I'm a millionaire now that I still live in this house. My bank account is just a bit rebellious, working on it.
‘At times like this, I am absolutely convinced that everything happens for a reason.’
The worst part of this whole story? I still don't have a new house. And I also know that my plan B will never be as nice as the little palace by the Dom. Yesterday, I was still approached when I put my key in the lock. “Wow, that’s a nice place to live!” Very sweetly meant of course, but come on people, do we really need to rub it in even more?
At times like this, I am absolutely convinced that everything happens for a reason.
Maybe this is the sign that Sander and I should move in together NOW. Because honestly: after seven years of back and forth between the city and the countryside, at some point, that gets a bit old. So I’ll take it from the bright side. It’s time to finally merge our separate lives. Goodbye to that long-distance relationship and on to the next chapter. Looking for a house together, doing renovations (which I actually find quite fun), cooking together (which wouldn’t be a bad idea for me either) and not waking up alone anymore. You know, maybe that whole houses is still the best thing that has happened to me this year. Damn, now just need a house...
P.S.: tips for a rental property in Utrecht where our two hysterical tigers Monza and Luna can frolic in a garden are very welcome at kiki@amayine.com, you get that.
