I'm going to Lowlands and I'm bringing
For three days camping. Actually, I am not made for this at all. In that respect, I am a luxury cat who cannot live without a hairdryer (and just, a working power outlet in general). And can we also quickly check the weather forecast? Three days of rain is predicted. It's heartbreaking. But hey, rain or no rain, I will just be at Mumford and Sons, The XX, Iggy Pop, Alt-J, SEANDAAPAUL (sorry, I can never pronounce his name normally) to name a few…
Did you catch the fuss about the girls from The Green Happiness? Ha, applause for some sites (hi, Vice) that brilliantly covered this. Sorry, but isn’t Lowlands supposed to be fun? Chamomile tea really? Well, that is definitely not on my list of things to take with me. What I will take with me is the following:
Tent
Of course, you want to be a bit cheap when it comes to a tent, because your ticket alone was already expensive enough. Plus all the outfits you specially bought to look like Kate Moss in the fields of Biddinghuizen. Look, twenty bucks for a three-day stay. Prrrrima. Only, if you are going with a group, I would still buy a party tent with so much rain in sight.
Camping tent via Decathlon €20
Dress
I just said it, you want to walk around like Kate Moss, so spending just a bit too much on at least one of your looks is allowed, right? And if you do it, you should do it well and go sniffing around at the most Instagrammable dresses from Realisation Par.
The Alexandra Italia Spot dress from Realisation Par €165
Hunter Boots
Still in the Kate Moss category, I once, long ago, bought Hunter Boots because I saw her wearing them. And let this be a perfect pair for the rain…
Hunter Boots via MyTheresa €125
Tissues
Always handy to have in your bag, in case you end up in a porta-potty without toilet paper.
Kleenex via Kruidvat €0,80
Power bank
Because: no power and we obviously can't live without our iPhones.
Xiaomi Powerbank 10000 mAh via Externebatterij.nl €29.95 (offer)
Raincoat
Alright, you can definitely find cheaper variants but my RAINS-raincoat has really been the best gift ever to survive the Dutch weather, so obviously it will be taken along.
RAINS raincoat via the Bijenkorf €95
are really only for emergencies. To freshen yourself up a bit or to use during an
Cleaning your face not only of your makeup but also of all the dirt that has accumulated after such a day is essential. Still, you’d rather not drag your most expensive cleansing products to Biddinghuizen. Go for the cleansing wipes from Nivea that keep your skin refreshing and hydrated.
Nivea cleansing wipes via Kruidvat €4,50
Okay, all of this together is actually just a small mix of what you need to take. Of course, also think about snacks, drinks, warm clothes for the evenings in your tent, a mattress, a sleeping bag, towel, condoms (you never know whose tent you might end up in), sunscreen (even if the weather forecast is so depressing), earplugs, and more that I know I have forgotten now, but of course, I am going with lovely friends who will surely have what I forgot.
Lowlands, I am so looking forward to you. Did I already say that?
