IN THE MOOD FOR GREEN? THE THREE MOST BEAUTIFUL INTERIOR BOOKS FOR PLANT FANS
YES, it’s a really bare place without a Christmas tree, and that’s why January is plant month. Right? However, a plant is a plant is a plant. You have to approach it well. Get inspired. Lift yourself up by other people's cool greenterior. Wanting to die because someone else has collected six hundred cool plants and you haven’t. You know how it is. You’re leafing through such a book, and those plants are also on a cool workbench with a marble tabletop. Tsssss. So you want not only the plants but also the table. And then that table is also in some kind of orangery that you don’t have at all. Because you live in a two-room apartment in Amsterdam-West that you suddenly hate while you’ve just shelled out over three hundred thousand for it.
That’s what I’m saying; nothing is more fun than books about cool people with cool plants. And then of course going to the garden center to stock up on (slightly less cool) plants. But hey, luckily there’s always that cool coffee table book at home, which in itself is already a nice interior accessory!
Okay. My top three. It’s a matter of clicking and shopping and looking at plants and getting jealous.
1. Greenterior: plant-loving creatives and their homes.
About 18 designers and their ridiculously cool, colorful, bohemian houses and their plants. The styling is top-notch, the plants are top-notch, the plant pots are top-notch, the houses are top-notch, and of course, the interviewees are also top-notch. So top-notch that you want to become a designer in Paris with cool plants. But that’s not possible, because yes – why can’t it actually be? It’s never too late to turn your life around! Oh, there are also all sorts of practical plant tips in the book.

2. Living with Plants, Caroline Gomez.
A slightly cleaner photographed book (that light, that light!) about beautiful, often minimalist, stunningly perfect houses and their plants. Be warned: if you secretly think about photographing interiors yourself – SILENCE – because you’re just so captivated by cool interiors – SILENCE – after reading/potting this book you think: goodness. Photography is really a profession, huh?

3. Urban Jungle: living and styling with plants.
A covetous book from the people behind Urban Jungle Bloggers, featuring five green, European interiors in the spotlight. With the most beautiful photos, the coolest plants (literally, figuratively) and rambambam, flashy tips from bloggers. Tips that make you think: I can do it, I want it, I need to have plants now, a lot of plants, really a lot of plants. And air plants. And air-purifying plants, or is that the same? You know what? I’m going to fill my entire sideboard with plants and of course Instagram everything. Maybe I’ll get discovered as an urban jungle blogger!
